THIS PUBLICATION contains forty-two papers from the International Symposium on Environmental Engineering and Health Sciences: A Joint Effort for the XXI Century that was organized to provide a forum for the interdisciplinary exchange of views on all aspects of these sciences. The papers addressed issues concerning environmental engineering and health sciences. The research showed that these two sciences are bound together by the most important user of all: Man.
The Table of Contents, comprised of 42 papers, are grouped in 4 sections: Fundamentals of Environmental Engineering and Health Sciences which contains ten papers on chemical hormesis, kinematic wave theory, analytical techniques, systemic organizations, and economizing water use and pollution; Exposure Assessment contains twelve papers on pesticides, water supply, radon, solid waste, heavy metals, air quality and asthmatic attacks, and respiratory diseases; Risk Assessment contains seven papers on water quality, cancer risk assessment, and cholera; and Environmental Engineering Applications contains thirteen papers on heavy metals, pesticide removal, bioreactors, atmospheric contamination, and hazardous waste.
