Troubleshooting HYFRAN+ Compatible with Windows 11:
Q1: I have problems installing the demo version of HYFRAN-Plus.

A1: Please see detailed information below and on our website at:

Q2: How do I find the product number?

A2: The Product number appears on the screen once the demo version is launched.

Q3: What username should I use?

A3: You can choose any username. But when the setup is done by the computer administrator, and if the administrator provides WRP the username, that is the username that will be assigned to HYFRAN-Plus.

Q4: I upgraded my computer system now the software does not work?

A4: The password you received is related to your computer system. When you change your computer or upgrade your system then you must upgrade HYFRAN-Plus software also at a cost of $150.

Q5: My password does not work?

A5: Check for the following:

- You do not have multiple copies of the demo version (see Q1);

- You did not upgrade your system (see Q4);

- If you had a system crash, you would have to purchase another copy at the discounted price (see Q4).

- If you uninstalled a previous demo version, you must also delete the HYFRAN folder in program files. To find this folder, do a search command for INRS.

- Please refer to the above warning notification.

Q6: I have not used the software for 6 months – it use to work now it does not?

A6: Check for the following:

- You do not have multiple copies of the demo version;

- You did not upgrade your system;

- If you had a system crash, you would have to purchase another copy at the discounted price.

- If you uninstalled a previous demo version, you must also eliminate the INRS folder file program. To find this folder, do a search command for INRS.

Q7: I am on a network, will the software work?

A7: No. You cannot use the software through a network or by different user session on the same network. The license corresponds to one user, additional licenses cost $150.00

Q8: Can I install HYFRAN-Plus on a virtual workstation?

A8: Yes, the software can be used on a virtual workstation, ONLY if the administrator who set up the software has allowed users to run any software. So when HYFRAN-Plus is activated for a given computer, it can be run from any session if the user has the authorization from the administrator. But it can only be used by one user session on the same network at the same time. For multiple users additional licenses need to be purchased.

The setup is like this: Win 7 Pro x64 virtual machine to which the software package will be deployed, which will then be made accessible to staff members to connect to with a single account. Similarly as to how it would operate on a physical system with multiple users each waiting their turn to work on it.

NOTE: FOR USER OF WINDOWS 7, MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ACCESS AS ADMINISTRATOR; IF YOU INSERT THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD IN THE REGISTRATION FORM, BUT NOTHING HAPPENS, CREATE A NEW PROFILE (NEW USER SESSION
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/Create-a-user-account) AND THE HYFRAN-PLUS SOFTWARE SHOULD WORK.

Q9: Problem related to folder name:

A9:

- Ensure the page you are linking to exist in the correct folder.

- Check your file name for case sensitivity. Index.htm is not the same as index.htm!

- Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your. htaccess file if it exists.

Q10: I had to reinstall the software with a new demo version, but it has the same product number?

A10: Yes, sometimes another demo version of HYFRAN-Plus has the same product number. However, when combined with a different username, the password will be different.

Q11: We downloaded the demo version and then ordered the license. The license information was added at the startup screen and it was accepted. But the program does not launch successfully. An icon appears in the taskbar, but the program does not display on the screen and will not maximize.

A11: When an icon appears in the taskbar, this problem is related to Windows 7. To get the HYFRAN window follow the following steps:

- Click on the Hyfran-PLUS icon

- Click simultaneously on : ALT and SPACE

- A new small window will appear, then select Enlarge

- For additional information, please see A8.

Q12: The software installed without issue on Windows 7 64 bit. When I open it, it brings up the “about” window, but there is no Hyfran program window behind it. When I click ‘Ok’ to continue, the program window seems to be minimized on the Taskbar, but clicking on it does nothing?

A12: See answer A11.

Q13: I am attempting to use the Demo version of Hysys. It installed without issue on Windows 7 64 bit. When I open it, it brings up the “about” window, but there is no Hyfran program window behind it. When I click ‘Ok’ to continue, the program window seems to be minimized on the Taskbar, but clicking on it does nothing.

A13: Both questions correspond to the same problem. The software cannot be used through a virtual workstation or by different user session on the same network. The license corresponds to one user. (See A8).

Q14: Our company policy is that I am not able to install anything on my computer; a person with administration permit has to log in and install the software. Is it a problem in terms of username? Are there any specific ways to do this and what may be the problem?

A14: The software must be downloaded and set up by administrative permit. But any username may be chosen. (See A3).

Q15: The last copy we purchased somehow was reset to demo version. The machine is locked and no user can access it without administrator privileges. There are other hydrometric applications installed since Hyfran-Plus was installed. Currently if I open it as a regular user, there is no window, but Hyfran-Plus shows in the task bar. If I run it as an administrator, it then opens the window but shows a different product number and it’s in demo mode?

A15: In some cases, this problem is associated with Windows 7. The demo version must be downloaded in the administrator session. It may be a similar problem to Q11.

Q16: Was Hyfran-Plus software developed under a QA certification (ISO for example)?

A16: Hyfran-Plus does not have certification like ISO. Its approval is made through a scientific process of publication of work in internationally renowned journals. The development team tested it over several years by specialists and university researchers (1998 - 2002), before making it public. Several modifications have been made since then, and the last one was in 2016. HYFRAN-Plus is now used by thousands of engineering companies around the world. Some companies started using it 20 years ago and continue to renew their licenses.

Q17: Is there a technical/academic paper demonstrating its application.)?

A17:    Hyfran-Plus is cited by many scientific papers, however, it's main use is in engineering. For more information, please request two articles from WRP at info@wrpllc.com. The first one illustrates the use of the DSS in Hyfran-Plus, and the second cited Hyfran-Plus for comparison with other tools.
