GAYLORD V. SKOGERBOE is a Professor in the Biological and Irrigation Engineering Department at Utah State University, currently on long-term assignment as director of the International Irrigation Management Institute in Pakistan. Prof. Skogerboe held the post of direcotor in the International Irrigation Center in Logan, Utah for several years, and was a professor at Colorado State University before that. The author of numerous technical papers, he has conducted much laboratory and field research on flow measurement and hydraulics, trained hundreds of participants in domestic and overseas courses, and served as adviser for the research of dozens of graduate students from various countries. |
GARY P. MERKLEY is an Assistant Professor in the Biological and Irrigation Engineering Depart-ment at Utah State University. He grew up on a large irrigated farm in California and managed all irrigation activities before returning to complete his Ph.D. at USU. He has developed several software applications and simulation models for canal hydraulics and irrigation water management, and continues to develop new applications. Dr. Merkley has worked and lived overseas through-out much of his career at USU, and currently teaches graduate classes at USU, conducts research, and works on various domestic and international irrigation projects.
