Dr. D. MURRAY HICKS is a scientist and
consultant with the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric
Research Ltd. (NIWA), Christchurch, New Zealand. Over a period
of 20 years, Dr. Hicks' research work has covered a broad range
of topics related to river and coastal processes, notably suspended-sediment
yields from New Zealand river basins, suspended-sediment and
turbulence interactions, hydraulic resistance, river bedload
transport, braided rivers, sediment dispersal from river mouths,
tidal inlet sedimentation, and nearshore sediment transport.
Dr. Hicks is the author or co-author of 38 refereed research
papers and 84 other research papers or consulting reports. |
